Lt. Gen. Prakash Katoch (Ret'd)

He is a Special Forces officer with 40 years of service in the Indian Army. He is also the third generation army officer from his family. He was as director general of Information Systems. As a Special Forces officer , he participated in 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. He has commanded independent commando company in counter insurgency in North East, a special Forces Battalion in Sri Lanka, a Brigade on the Siachen Glacier, a Division in Ladakh, and a Strike Corps in semi-deserts. He served as India’s Defence Attaché to the Republic of Korea ( as Deputy Director General Military Operations (Special Forces)at Indian Army HQ). He was the Assistant Chief of Integrated Defence staff ( Strategic Operations). He has authored many articles on international relations, strategic affairs, national security, military, technical and topical issues, and contributes regularly to both Indian and foreign publications. A leading defense analyst, he is a visiting fellow in international think tanks and is active in seminars at both national and international levels. He has written a book on the Special Forces of India and also authored the book Indian Military and Network-Centric Warfare. He holds a master’s degree in Defence Studies and is an alumnus of the National Defence College of India.

He was elected as the Council member of USI (United services institution of India) and has held the Field Marshal KM Cariappa Chair of excellence for the year 2011-2012.

With a Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy with a specialization in Anti-Terrorism from Annamalai University, a Diploma in Labor Laws and Administrative Laws from the same institution, and a B.A. in Media Study from SUNY Buffalo, New York, USA, Aparna brings a strong interdisciplinary foundation to TSP. She has served as the former Editor-in-Chief of Voice of Baloch.Her expertise lies in interpretations of militancy, state behavior, and shifting regional power dynamics.

With over a decade of experience as a researcher and analyst focusing on defence, counterterrorism, and geopolitics, she has contributed to several respected publications, including Indian Military Review, Indian Defence Review, South Asia Monitor, and The Eurasian Times. Her work and commentary have also been quoted across numerous platforms, underscoring her credibility as a sought-after voice in the field.

Col. Anil Bhat (Retd.) is a prominent Indian strategic analyst, defence expert, and former military spokesperson. He is widely recognized for his commentary on national security, geopolitics, and India's military history. He served as a spokesperson for both the Ministry of Defence and the Indian Army. He was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) for his distinguished service. Strategic Analysis: He is a frequent contributor to major platforms like the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), ANI, The Salute Magazine, South Asia Monitor, The Asian Age, The Pioneer, Rashtriya Sahara, The Diplomatist, and the Vivekananda International Foundation. He often provides expert insights on television and digital media regarding India-Pakistan relations, border security with China, and counter-terrorism in South Asia.

Col. Bhat has authored several books focusing on security challenges and military history, including Information and Security: Where Truth Lies? (2008), Assam Terrorism and the Demographic Challenge (2009), After Abottabad, terror to turmoil in Pakistan (2012) and China Bloodies Bulletless Borders (2023).

Ivaylo Valchev brings a rigorous economic-policy lens to TSP’s intelligence and analytical framework. Holding a Master’s in Economics from SUNY Buffalo, New York, USA and an MBA from Bayes Business School in London, he integrates advanced economic theory with strategic foresight to decode complex global dynamics. His expertise include Geopolitical economics, Global trade flows, Strategic competition, risk forecasting and Economic statecraft, including sanctions, trade policy, investment screening, and the use of financial leverage in foreign policy.

In addition to his analytical contributions, Ivaylo has written for respected defence and strategic publications such as Indian Defence Review, Indian Military Review, and other regional and international platforms. His work adds depth to TSP’s assessments by bridging economic analysis with geopolitical and security considerations.
