In “Operation Shiv Shakti,” a joint effort by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps and the Jammu & Kashmir Police successfully neutralized two Pakistani terrorists in the Degwar sector of Poonch district. The operation, which took place in the Maldivalan area along the Line of Control (LoC), was based on precise intelligence and aimed to prevent cross-border infiltration.

Days after the Indian armed forces neutralised the perpetrators of Pahalgam terror attack (22 April 2025) in Operation Mahadev, two Pakistani terrorists were terminated in the operation codenamed Operation Shiv Shakti in the Degwar sector of Poonch district, with a focused sweep near the Maldivalan area. Operation Shiv Shakti was a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army’s White Knight Corps and the Jammu & Kashmir Police (JKP). On basis of precise intelligence inputs through multiple agencies, the operation charged forward. The operation was carried out in the Degwar sector of Poonch district, with a focused sweep near the Maldivalan area. This mentioned area is located along the Line of Control (LoC). The area is known to have several militant movements due to its close proximity to the Indo-Pakistan border, while the dense terrain in this region has proved in the past to provide necessary cover to go undetected while proving advantageous for the infiltrators to evade capture. Hence this area is a significant target for the Indian Army’s counter-infiltration mission.
The Operation Shiv Shakti aims to deter the cross-border infiltrations and terror activities by intercepting and neutralising armed infiltrators who aim to enter the Indian territory. The infiltrators are targeted close to LOC to prevent the militants from further infiltrating  into civilian areas or targetting any critical infrastructure. The fast and accurate firepower from the left no room for militant retaliation. Three weapons were seized. Post-operation, search and cordon drills have continued to secure the area. The White Knight Corps, or the 16 Corps, of the Indian Army reported the success in the operation in a statement on X. It is headquartered at Nagrota Cantonment, Jammu and Kashmir.
